1. Here's how
When you place a model with a basement or a swimming pool on a flat terrain, the structure will be hidden below the Lumion Landscape:
2. Lumion 10 and newer versions
- Lumion 9: Please see section 3 below.
- Lumion 8 and older versions: Please see section 4 below.
2.1: Lumion 10 and newer versions include a tool called the Landscape Cutter in the Utilities category.
This tool lets you hide the Lumion Landscape below up to 2 rectangular Landscape Cutter objects.
2.2: The Landscape Cutter object can be moved, rotated, and scaled like any other object in Lumion.
Drag the corners to adjust the size and shape of the area:
2.3: If the swimming pool does not have a rectangular shape, please click on the Landscape tab and use the Lower tool to carefully lower the Lumion Landscape inside the swimming pool until it is hidden from view:
2.4: If the border between the Lumion Landscape and the swimming pool is narrow, you may have to hide the lowered Lumion Landscape by adding a terrain 'skirting' (edging) surface along the edge of the swimming pool in your CAD software. Please see this article for more details:

3. Lumion 9
3.1: Click on the Landscape tab and use the Lower tool to carefully lower the terrain inside the swimming pool until it is hidden from view:
3.2: If the border between the Lumion Landscape and the swimming pool is narrow, you may have to hide the lowered Lumion Landscape by adding a terrain "skirting" surface along the edge of the swimming pool in your CAD software. Please see this article for more details:

4. Lumion 8 and older versions
4.1: Before you lower the terrain inside the swimming pool, please follow the instructions in the article below to lock the position of all the models near the swimming pool.

If you don't lock the models, they will move when you lower the terrain.
4.2: Then click on Landscape Mode and use the Lower tool to carefully lower the terrain inside the swimming pool until it is hidden from view:
